A FREE family fun day and polo match is to take place in Baschurch next month.

The event ran by Shropshire Polo Club, will be held at its home base at Moor Farm, Baschurch on Saturday, June 15 between midday and 5pm.

It will cost nothing to attend but donations will go to Age UK, to support continuation of its work in the county.

At 2pm, Shropshire Polo Club's team will be joined by two other teams, one representing Age UK, to compete against each other to win the Age UK Trophy.

Jo Garvin, from Age UK North Shropshire Supporters, said: “This is a new trophy and we are looking forward to an excellent day of sport.

"It will be a fantastic day out for all the family.”

There will be a barbecue and licensed bar plus live music, stalls, a raffle and tombola.

Family activities to include sack and egg and spoon races, bouncy pony races, traditional fairground games, adults only bicycle polo, a practice wooden horse and divot stomping.

Anne Wignall, president of Age UK Shropshire Telford and Wrekin, said: “We are very grateful to the Shropshire Polo Club at Moor Farm for hosting this event and supporting the vital work of Age UK.

"We hope that both horse and polo enthusiasts and anyone who enjoys a great day out will come along with family and friends."
