A apprenticeship scheme has seen an Oswestry student take up a part-time job.
Marches School student Kieran Lewis started working one-day-a-week as a sales assistant at Morgans in Oswestry in Year 10.
He continued the role throughout year 11 and has now been offered an apprenticeship where he will gain a qualification in customer service.
Martin Cap, owner of Morgans, said: "Kieran has fitted in to the team extremely well. He is punctual, polite and hardworking, which is why we have partnered with local apprenticeship provider, County Training to offer him an apprenticeship."
Meg Murphy, careers adviser at the Marches School, who sources work placements added: "The Marches Apprenticeship programme is increasingly successful and offers students valuable work experience and an insight into a role before committing to it full time."
Morgans are again offering the same opportunity to a committed, reliable and keen young person, initially through a Saturday job, which for the right candidate could lead to a full-time apprenticeship.
Nikki Norris, business development officer for County Training, said: "County Training's apprenticeships are a great way for young people to gain vocational experience and achieve a well-respected qualification at the same time.
"We are proud to have a good relationship with The Marches School who demonstrate great commitment to vocational training in addition to academic excellence, ensuring their pupils can benefit from a wide range of opportunities.’
