ELLESMERE’S new mayor has spoken on what it means to take up the position.
Councillor Paul Golbourne was named as new the new mayor, taking over from cllr Ryan Hartley.
In a brief mayor making ceremony, cllr Golbourne was anointed as mayor, joined by new deputy mayor cllr Anne Wignall.
After giving a speech reflecting on his time as mayor, cllr Hartley handed the mayoral livery chain to his successor at the start of the meeting.
"I am proud to have been elected chair of Ellesmere Town Council and mayor of Ellesmere," said cllr Golbourne
"I look forward to representing Ellesmere as town mayor, and working with the town council for the good of the town."
