Chirk took inspiration from some of the world’s most famous cities last week as it hosted a fashion show.

The show took place at Chirk AAAs Social Club on Thursday evening in aid of Chirk Youth Football Club and Chirk Pre-School Playgroup.

Organised by Deb Cooke and Sally Redman, the event proved to be a success and was a very enjoyable among everyone in attendance.

Deb said: “We chose to fundraise for them as they need a bit of help at the moment.

“Also, my husband, Martin Cooke, used to be involved for many years with Chirk Youth FC.

“We thought it would be a good way to help two local charities.

“At the same time, we wanted to do something different and bring the community together.”

After the success of the show and the high level of interest, Deb said the pair would definitely consider doing another similar event in the future.

“It was very well-received. The event sold out within weeks of it being announced,” she said.

“People were still messaging on the day to enquire about tickets.

“After seeing how successful it was, it’s something we would definitely do again.

“Colours FUNdraising Fashion Shows group made it very easy to organise. Absolutely 100 per cent of the profits raised went to our chosen charities.“Thanks to everyone who came along to support and take part in aid of two groups which are very important for the community.

“Thanks to the AAAs social club for providing the venue for free.”
