The Oswestry-based family of a woman found dead in a Cardiff flat on Tuesday have paid tribute to a 'beautiful bubbly girl'.

Lauren Griffiths, 21, was found at a property in Glynrhondda Street, Cathays, after emergency services were called at around 6.10pm on Tuesday, April 30.

Lauren’s family, who live in the Oswestry area and who are being supported by specially trained liaison officers, say they will remember a person with confidence but say she was 'taken too soon'.

“Lauren was a beautiful bubbly girl," said the family in a statement.

"She loved being part of a large family and was a real people person. Lauren’s fun and unique dress sense always made her stand out in a crowd and she was comfortable and confident in her own skin.

“Lauren was taken from us too soon and leaves a massive hole in all our hearts.”

A 22-year-old man, who comes from the Wrexham area and who was known to Lauren, has been arrested on suspicion of murder and police are not looking for anyone else in connection with her death at this time.

Detectives are keen to hear from anyone who can offer information in relation to the investigation or who would have been in Glynrhondda Street between midday on Monday, April 29, and 6.10pm on Tuesday, April 30, and who may have seen or heard anything in connection with this matter.

DCI Mark O’Shea, the senior investigating officer, said: “South Wales Police appreciate the support given by the community while our enquiries continue in the area.

“We ask anyone with information about the incident please to contact us via 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, quoting occurrence 1900154230.”
