The sun was shining and there were smiles all round as the annual Good Friday Family Day came to Oswestry on Friday.

Hundreds of people turned out to enjoy an eclectic mix of stalls and displays that filled the Bailey Head.

There was everything from face painting, a man making balloon animals and flowers, a fair ground, bouncy castle – and even an appearance by Fairy Nuff (aka Clare Wall) who gave the event an extra sprinkling of magic.

The event also boasts Paco the Llama and a stall where you could meet owls and learn more about them.

And fortunately, despite the temperatures being hotter than Spain, there wasn't too much melted chocolate either

Hector's Greyhound Rescue was in attendance with two-legged and four-legged friends, plus there was an assortment of stallholders selling special Easter treats.

Markets manager David Clough said he was pleased with the turnout for the themed event which expands on the weekly market.

It is one of several themed markets held throughout the year.
