DETECTIVES investigating the robbery of an elderly lady in Hoole are urging the public to come forward with information.

Between 4.10pm and 4.25pm on Wednesday, April 17 a woman was on James Place in Hoole when a black vehicle pulled up with a man and two women inside.

The front female passenger asked the lady for directions and as the victim went over to her she was held by both women. One of the women got out of the vehicle and hugged her then at the same time a piece of jewellery was pulled from the lady’s body.

One of the woman then stole the jewellery and everyone made off at speed in the black car.

The man driving the car is described as aged in his 40s, of a slim build with olive skin, black wavy hair and clean shaven. He was wearing dark clothing.

A female front passenger is described as being in her late 30s to early 40s, with olive skin and jet black hair tied back and wearing a black dress.

The other woman is described as aged in her late 30s to early 40s with olive skin and black hair tied back and wearing black clothing.

Detective Constable Kelly Birch, of Chester CID, said: “This was a targeted crime on a vulnerable elderly lady which occurred in daylight.

“She was lured into helping the people inside the vehicle who then deceived her and stole sentimental jewellery.

“I want to directly urge anyone who may have witnessed the vehicle or the people inside the car and saw any suspicious behaviour to contact us on 101.”
