CHILDREN showed off their creative skills at an Oswestry nursery's annual Easter Bonnet Parade.
Oswestry School nursery children at Bellan House gathered at the school where they were judged on the creativity of their Easter themed bonnets.
Hats featuring eggs, bunnies and other Easter-themed items were on show, along with some hats sporting sheep, lights and even dinosaurs.
Denise Kerr of the nursery said it was pleasing to see such creative bonnets on display.
She said: “We’ve had an Easter bonnet parade each year during our 10 years of being here.
“We do it to celebrate Easter and give the children the chance to get together and have a bit of fun.
“It’s a good way to bring out the creative side of the children – and even their parents!
“It’s lovely to do something which allows families to get involved.”
The five age groups in the nursery, from babies through to pre-school, all took part and paraded around the school hall to show off their creations.
Winners were presented with gifts such as Easter eggs, books and toys.
Denise added: “It’s a tradition here now and this year particularly it has been amazing to see how many children have participated.
“In fact, every single child in the nursery and some extras who don’t usually come in have turned up with a bonnet.
“It’s great to see so many children taking part and it really highlights the family feel of the nursery.”
