A GROUP of Oswestry artists is holding a pop-up open studio fundraiser for a national charity this Easter.

Visitors will be able to explore some of the work including sculptures and ceramics made by artists at the Vale Studio between Friday, April 19 and Monday, April 22.

The event will take place in aid of Marie Curie – a charity which works to help people through terminal illnesses.

There will also be a tea party as part of the fundraising efforts.

Between 10am and 4pm, art enthusiasts can visit the work at Cambrian Studios, Coney Green, and 25 per cent of any purchases made will be donated to the charity.

Madeleine Vale is one of the artists who will be in attendance.

She said: “We’ve had the studio here in Oswestry since July, and a friend of mine held a similar event to this one at her house.

“I thought it might be a fun thing to do at Easter for people in the town.

“It’s a good excuse to come along to look at some art, drink tea and eat cake!”

Bob Knowles, Jenny Furmanek, Sara Piper Heap, Carys Sanders, Judith Harrison and Tammy Williams are the other artists who will be present at the event.

A charge of £1 will apply for refreshments including homemade cakes and tea.
