AN OSWESTRY church is launching a third year of its volunteering scheme in the town.
Hope Church is offering to help families, organisations, and individuals who may need a helping hand with practical projects through its Osbless project.
The church is aiming to generate over 200 hours of voluntary work for the community in one week.
Last year’s projects included decorating the homes of vulnerable people, working with the elderly, litter picking and recycling with Do it for Dave.
This year, volunteers will be working at Gobowen orthopaedic Hospital, running a pop-up Café to raise money for Medaid to buy defibrillators, and making swift boxes for Shropshire Wildlife.
Helen Evans, Hope Church Community Outreach Worker said: “We were able to successfully undertake 12 projects last year, helping families and some of the most vulnerable in our community, working in partnership with other voluntary and statutory organisations including Star Housing.
“We are looking forward to having fresh challenges and nominations for 2019.”
Anybody wanting to volunteer to help or knows anybody who might need help, contact Helen at helen@hopechurchoswestry.org.uk or call 01691 655 546.
The Osbless dates for completing the projects are Friday, May 10 until Sunday, May 19, 2019.
