A total of 40 pianists from the North Powys primary and secondary schools took to the grand piano for the sixth annual cheese and wine fund raising concert held at Llanymynech Village Hall.

All proceeds from this event went to Llanymynech Village Hall this year, and £736 was raised towards refurbishing costs.

Organiser Helen Elliott, who is also the pupils piano teacher, paid tribute to the high standard of performances.

"It was a fantastic evening and the standard of playing was very high this year," she said.

"I am very grateful to Stuart Jones Piano Sales Ltd, Newtown for donating the loan of the Yamaha grand piano for event.

"Thanks to Arla Foods for donating the cheese and Stonehouse Brewery for donating the beer. We also collaborated for the first time with Llanyfyllin High School, as performer medals were designed and made by Year 10 students from the Design & Technology Department."
