There was a buzz of activity at Chirk Methodist Church on Saturday morning.
Dozens of people popped down for the Mother's Day theme cafe, which saw everything from bacon sandwiches to toasted teacakes on offer.
It was the first fundraiser hosted by the church in two years after it completed its roof repair appeal.
Anne Davies, who helped to organise the event, said: "This fundraiser is in aid of chapel funds.
"The turnout has been fantastic."
The other organisers were Sue Bell, Violet Evans, Sue Davies and Olwen Weller.
The next fundraiser will be an afternoon tea to be held on Wednesday, June 12, between 3pm and 5pm, and will include entertainment by singer John Edwards.
Tickets will be available shortly.
Supporters of the church are also working on a recipe book – the first to be produced since 2002 – which will feature recipes from the ministers and congregation.
