A cake sale in Pontfadog raised almost £200.
Residents came together to make and buy tasty treats in aid of the legal fees caused by the campaign to save the village primary school from closure.
Unfortunately, the appeal was unsuccessful.
Helena Evans said: "We had a really good turnout, people have been really generous.
"We are getting close to the amount needed now."
The cake sale also included a raffle with prizes included donation from Boots.
