Whittington Castle launched the first of its 2019 Living History events over the weekend.
The American Civil War Society event featured re-enactment groups from across the country who converged on the Medieval fortress for drill exercises.
Joining them were businesses from near and far.
The weekend gave visitors to the castle a chance to experience life during the American Civil War and learn more about that period in history over Saturday and Sunday.
It will be followed by a Napoleonic Re-enactment and Living History Weekend which takes on Saturday, April 27 and Sunday, April 28.
Other weekends include War of the Roses in May, Tudor in August and the English Civil War in September.
