A MAN has been charged after a stabbing in Shrewsbury on Monday.

The incident happened around 8.30am yesterday in the town centre near Ravens Meadows and Castle Street.

A 53-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment and his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

A 20-year-old man has been arrested and charged with robbery and possession of a bladed article.

Luke Pritchard of Copthorne Road in Shrewsbury is set to appear in Kidderminster Magistrates' Court today.

Enquiries are ongoing to trace a second suspect.
