Youngsters in Whitchurch have been doing their bit for fairtrade after deigning a plate with its logo.
Judy Bellingham, secretary at Whitchurch Fairtrade Town Group, set the primary school pupils a challenge for Fairtrade Fortnight –February 25 until March 10 – with a competition to design a plate with the Fairtrade logo.
There was a great uptake for the competition and the winners were presented with their fairtrade Easter Eggs from town mayor Councillor Tony Neville.
Judy said: "On Saturday, March 16 the mayor presented the prizes.
"The winners were Hallie Seaton and Fox Fearnall, from the White House School; Wojciech Sala and Harry Jones from Whitchurch Junior Academy and Matilda Moseley and Isabelle Allmark from Whitchurch Infants School.
"The prizes were Fairtrade Easter Eggs. There was a lovely display of all the plates in the foyer at the Civic Centre."
