A MAN who died in a collision near Oswestry has been named locally.
In the early hours of Wednesday, March 20 a car was involved in a collision with a lorry on the A5 between Gobowen and Gledrid.
West Mercia Police say that formal identification has yet to take place, but the man is believed to be Garat Hannan, 32, from Wrexham.
Mr Hannan's family have paid tribute to him in a statement.
"The whole family would like to thank the emergency services for the care and respect they showed to Garat at his last moment.... Our hearts are broken our lives will never be the same again," they said.
"A bright light has gone out.....We'll never forget you Garat...We'll love and miss you forever."
Police are continuing to appeal for information and are asking any witnesses to contact West Mercia Police on 101 quoting reference 09s 200319.
