VOTED Best UK Male Big Band Vocalist, Matt Ford guests in a salute to Sinatra and the swing legends with the Foden’s Brass Band at Newtown this Saturday night, March 23.

Matt performed for five years with the Syd Lawrence Orchestra, and makes regular appearances with the John Wilson Orchestra and the BBC Big Band.

He was also nominated alongside Jamie Cullum in the inaugural Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Awards.

Last year he performed six concerts at the Royal Albert Hall with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and toured the UK in the ‘Celebrate Sinatra’ show.

He has also appeared in the BBC Proms, made numerous radio and television appearances and released the album ‘Gershwin in Hollywood’ with the John Williams Orchestra, recorded live at the Royal Albert Hall in 2015.

His own latest albums include ‘The Swing Thing’ and ‘The Art of Romantic Song’.

Matt has already appeared on stage in Hollywood, France, Germany and Ireland, including the ‘Swingin’ Christmas’ show in Dublin.

The Foden Brass Band was formed in Sandbach, Cheshire, in 1900 by members of the Foden lorry works and has gone on to world acclaim, including winning the National Brass Band Competition of Great Britain 12 times.

Last Christmas they worked with Matt on their ‘Memories of Christmas’ shows and album.
