NEW faces have joined Lanyon Bowdler’s commercial and agricultural property team in the Oswestry office.

Charlotte Hammersley brings over 30 years experience in both private practice and as a legal academic specialising in commercial and agricultural property.

She has worked for some of the largest law firms in the UK and brings significant additional strength and depth to the team in both commercial and agricultural property.

Charlotte is returning to her roots to live in Shropshire, and as a member of a local farming family, she holds a particular interest in agriculture and is a longstanding member of the Country Landowners Association.

From May Llinos Roberts, a newly qualified solicitor specialising in commercial and agricultural property, will support the experienced team from the firm’s premises in both Oswestry and Conwy.

Llinos lives in Caernarfon and is a Welsh speaker who grew up on her family’s farm and caravan club site in Wales.

The well-established team includes long-serving partner Alan Gittins, who has been with the firm and its predecessor firms, since 1976, associate Tania McGee who joined in January 2018, lives just outside Oswestry and has 20 years experience across both commercial and agricultural property, and partner Edward Nutting who joined in April 2018 bringing 11 years experience in commercial and agricultural property.

This year also sees the departure of two long-serving team members and partners in Ian Glenister who, following almost 30 years with Lanyon Bowdler and before that Longueville Gittins, is retiring from practice, and Emma Wilde who after 19 years is leaving the firm to pursue new opportunities.

Managing partner Brian Evans said both Ian and Emma would finish with the firm at the end of April with the best wishes and gratitude of both Lanyon Bowdler and their loyal and long-standing client base.

“I would like to thank Ian and Emma for their hard work over the years and wish them well,” he said.

“They are extremely dedicated lawyers who have always given their all for their clients. We are extremely grateful to them for the immense contribution they have made to Longueville Gittins and Lanyon Bowdler over the years.

“We are delighted to have been able to build on the recruitment of Tania McGee and Edward Nutting last year with the addition of Charlotte Hammersley and Llinos Roberts in coming months to ensure our clients can continue to trust us to deliver the highest standard of legal services they have come to expect and indeed enable us to deal with the ongoing growth in demand for our commercial and agricultural property services.”
