AN OSWESTRY charity has challenged photographers to get ‘snappy happy’ and help raise funds for its projects by taking part in a new competition.

Qube is offering a £100 prize for the happiest picture in a contest entitled ‘Happiness Is…’, as selected by a panel of independent judges

A £20 ‘People’s Choice’ prize is also up for grabs.

Qube arts officer, Charlotte Jackson, said: “There seems to be quite a lot of gloomy news around at the moment, so we thought we’d run a competition to fill the gallery with people’s happiness pictures.

“Anyone can enter the competition, you can even send in pictures from your mobile phone. It’s going to be really interesting to see what makes people smile.”

Entry costs £5 per image and the closing date is midnight on Monday, April 1.

The money raised from the competition will help support Qube’s services to the community.

Services includes arts exhibitions and events, advice for volunteers, community transport, shopmobility and wheelchair hire, training courses and the weekly Tuesday Club

Entry forms are available at Qube, or alternatively visit www.qube-oca.org.uk/photography
