VOLUNTEERS are needed to help preserve Oswestry’s rich heritage.

Oswestry Town Museum is looking for people to help run as it looks to extending its opening hours to six days a week!

The Oswestry Museum came about through the work of the Heritage Open Days committee which after holding a successful event in 2010 looked at the idea of a facility to tell the story of the town and surrounding area, while providing a hub for information to several other heritage sites.

It opened in the spring of 2012 at the Guildhall on Bailey Head, and holds regular exhibitions and events throu.

Responsibilities would include opening and closing the museum, meeting and greeting customers, taking part in projects, assisting with the annual Heritage Open Days, assisting with any other museum-led events, sharing own skills and experiences, and other general assisting where necessary.

Hours and jobs are negotiable. Experience is not essential.

Full training will be given.
