IT HAS been another record-breaking year for the Oswestry Youth Music Festival.
The annual event saw hundreds of musicians from Shropshire, Cheshire, Wrexham and north and mid Wales take to stages across the town over five days to demonstrate their musical prowess.
This year also enjoyed many new schools and colleges taking part so its reputation and reach is growing.
And it all culminated in a spectacular finale at Christ Church on Sunday.
Mayor of Oswestry, Councillor Sandy Best, said: “Thank you to everyone who took part and supported the event. It was great to see packed venues enjoying wonderful performances.”
This year’s winners were:
Young Performer of the Year Award - Myles Wilkinson.
Oswestry Town Council Junior Cup - Tara Davies.
Oswestry Town Council Cup - Florence Harvey
The Cherrington Award - Porthywaen.
The dates are already in the diary for next year’s festival – which will be its 43rd event – to be held between February 26 and March 1.
