OSWESTRY’S famous monument against violence and aggression is on the road again.
The Knife Angel sculpture, originally based at the British Ironwork Centre, has spent the past month in Hull, and will now continue its tour of the country as it moves to Coventry.
It is set to be unveiled outside Coventry Cathedral next week where it will remain until April.
After its stint in Coventry, a decision will be made regarding the whereabouts of its next destination.
Chairman of the British Ironwork Centre, Clive Knowles, spoke last week about how there are many options for the next location.
He said: “We’re talking to Birmingham at the moment, and Wrexham have actually stepped forward and said they would like to host the Knife Angel at their cathedral.
“It could be heading somewhere like Gloucester, Cleveland or Nottingham, so there are a lot of options for its next location.”
Meanwhile, Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs Boris Johnson has given his backing to the idea of the sculpture making its way to London.
