A MAN remains in hospital after being stabbed on an Oswestry road on Wednesday.

Police were called to the incident on Unicorn Road at 6.10pm with reports that a man in his 40s had been stabbed in the leg.

The man remains in hospital and is being treated for his injuries, which are not believed to be life-threatening.

A spokesman for West Mercia Police said: "While no arrests have been made, we believe this to be an isolated incident with no wider threat to the community.

"Enquiries are ongoing to establish exactly what happened and we would appeal to anyone who may have witnessed the incident to please call 101 quoting incident number 583S of February 20.

"Alternatively, information can be provided anonymously to the independent charity Crime stoppers on 0800 555 111."
