Chris Davies MP has agreed with the decision for IS bride Shamima Begum to have her British citizenship removed.

The Conservative MP for Brecon and Radnor said: "Returning ISIS Jihadis have no place in Britain. Great to see the UK Government listening to the public’s concerns over Begum’s return."

Shamima Begum has spoken of how she wants to come back to Britain after fleeing her London home to wed an IS fighter in Syria aged 15.

Before the Home Office made a decision, Chris Davies said she should "absolutely not" be allowed to return to the UK.

He said: "Shamima Begum has made her beliefs absolutely clear. She is an unrepentant believer in the caliphate and has no regrets about leaving the UK to join ISIS.

"This woman would pose a serious security risk to law abiding UK citizens and as far as I am concerned has lost her right to return to the UK.

"We need to be firm on this matter and I believe that anyone that has left the UK to fight for terrorist organisations should not be allowed back!"

Ms Begum left the UK with two school friends, Kadiza Sultana and Amira Abase in February 2015. Ms Sultana is thought to have died and the fate of Ms Abase is unknown.

The decision by the UK Government has divided opinion and some MPs have spoken out against the decision, including Conservative George Freeman, who called the move a "mistake" that would set a "dangerous precedent".
