AN OSWESTRY charity is celebrating reaching a fundraising milestone.

Oswestry Guide Dogs Fundraising Branch has raised £100,000 since it formed seven years ago.

Spokesman Lin Stapley said: “A big thank you to the people of Oswestry and surrounding areas for their continued support and generosity and an even bigger thank you to the members of the fundraising group who work tirelessly to help raise funds.

“A Guide Dog partnership costs over £50,000 during its lifetime so the group are over the moon with this great success.”

The fundraising continues with the second annual Oswestry Wedding Fayre in the Memorial Hall on March 3, hosted alongside TJ’s Print & Gift Shop.

Entry is £1 per person and includes a goody bag and an entry into the grand prize draw. There will be a variety of wedding vendors from photographers/videographers, dress suppliers, event dressers and more.

Further events being organised this year include a live music night at the Griffin Inn, Oswestry from 4pm to 11pm on Saturday, April 13.
