Plans to get a designated riding centre for the disabled, currently, based in Baschurch, a new location is set to get some star help.

The Cavalier Centre, in Nobold, will be holding a Country House Charity Car Boot Sale on Sunday, May 12 at the Isle Estate, a hidden treasure just outside Shrewsbury.

The centre's home will be the new Perry Riding for the Disabled in Much Wenlock, which costs £1.3 million, has taken six years to get from planning application through to its opening in April.

There will also be a 'valuations tent' run by Whitchurch's BBC star Christina Trevanion from Trevanion and Dean Auctioneers, so if you want to know if that inherited family piece is something unusual bring it along.

In addition a Vintage Clothes tent will delight those wearing and collecting items from bygone eras, and a refreshments tent will offer local goodies from opening to the end.

Taking place at the event will be an exciting mixture of ‘booters’ selling family treasures and visitors (buyers) looking for that amazing bargain and possible hidden gem.

Gates will open at 9am and close at 3pm and there is plenty of onsite parking. The organisers are expecting around 50 stalls, so there will be lots to browse and buy for.

The centre is one of over 600 RDA groups throughout England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, it provides people with disabilities with the opportunity to improve their physical and mental health through education and fun with horses.

It will be a state-of-the-art indoor facility enabling clients to attend all year round and not be dictated to by weather.

This event will contribute to the final £150,000 to complete the vision, and organisers are encouraging house owners to take a ‘boot’ and visitors to attend. Currently bad weather can cause cancellation of up to one third of total sessions in a year.

“Just over the past few weeks we have had approximately 86 disappointed individuals who could not attend their session due to the bad weather," said Jane Barker.
