SOME people have been making the most of the cold weather by wrapping up and exploring the woods at a popular site in Chirk.

Chirk Castle’s snowdrop walks have returned for 2019, giving everyone the opportunity to explore the wintery grounds of the National Trust site.

With white snowdrops blanketing the woods and patches of the grounds across the wider estate, it offers plenty of chances for great winter-themed photos.

A National Trust spokesperson said: “The Pleasure Ground Wood is always a lovely place to view a stunning carpet of snowdrops, a sure sign that spring is on the way.”

As well as exploring the grounds, the Medieval Adam tower and dungeon, and the Chapel. The main rooms in the castle remain closed for winter conservation work.
