The owners of the MyDentist dental practice in Willow Street, Oswestry have confirmed it close in April.

Last month, The Advertizer reported the MyDentist branch was facing a possible closure after a concerned resident said they had been told by staff they were closing.

The Manchester-based national firm said it was one of a number of branches being considered for closure but have now confirmed the news and current patients will be helped in their search for a new dentist.

A spokesman for the practice said: “Having explored all possible options, unfortunately, but in common with a number of other dental practices in the local area, difficulties in recruiting dentists and increased running costs have forced us to make the tough decision to close our Oswestry practice on April 5.

“This decision has not been taken lightly and we are doing everything we can to minimise patient disruption by working closely with the local NHS team.

“Registered patients with open courses of treatment will have their dental care completed or appropriately referred before April 5.

“All patients are being informed of the closure and we are providing details from the NHS on finding an alternative dental practice, including a limited number of places available at our sister practices in Wrexham and Shrewsbury.”
