THE creator of a classic children's book series is set to visit Oswestry – along with a guest appearance from her tearaway creation.

Francesca Simon, author of the Horrid Henry books, will spend a morning with her fans at the Lion Quays Hotel on Saturday, March 23.

The bestselling author is celebrating 25 years of the mischievous characters' antics with the publication of Horrid Henry Up, Up and Away.

Horrid Henry's adventures have sold more than 21 million copies worldwide and been translated into 31 languages.

There are four brand-new stories with the titular character at his bothersome best, wreaking havoc on an aeroplane, being forced to write an essay about the Tudors, sabotaging a school play and going for a ride on a forbidden rollercoaster.

The event is one of several events organised by Booka Bookshop in Oswestry.

Doors open at 10.30am and the fun will start at 11am.

Tickets are £12 (one adult, a child and a signed book) and £6 (additional child/adult with £3 redeemable against other Horrid Henry book purchase).

Please note that buying tickets online will incur a booking fee.
