AN IDEA for a dog playground in Oswestry has been proposed.
Councillor Jay Moore has put a motion before Oswestry Town Council for a dog agility park on the Brynhafod field.
In the motion to Monday's full council meeting, Cllr Moore says that the park has been adopted by public as a safe walking space for dogs.
He said: "I propose we invest in additional seating, bins for faeces and a small area for dog training that includes simple activities such as jumping blocks, slalom poles, a see-saw, dog tunnel etc.
"Many residents of the town have canine friends, and a safe and practical space for training benefits owners and non-owners alike.
"The investment in this park would be made from the windfall."
Cllr Moore had also placed a motion to "look into the costs of, and undertake funding for", a youth outreach team.
The team would operate outside the youth centre and "patrol the town and parks looking for young people to engage with".
Cllr Moore suggested a six-month trial period, operating a "minimum of two days per week with a view to extend".
The meeting starts at 7pm and members of the public are welcome to attend.
