MOTORISTS travelling between Oswestry and Chirk on the A5 experienced delays as repairs took place.
Two-way traffic lights were in place on the stretch of the road for most of yesterday (Thursday), as Highways England repaired an extension joint beneath the road on the southbound lane.
Spokesman for Highways England Jim Wildman said: “We were on the stretch of the A5 between Oswestry and Chirk for one day to carry out some emergency repairs.
“Repairs to an expansion joint required closure to part of the one side of the road.
“We apologise for any inconvenience caused – we try to carry out any work we do with minimal disruption.
“Thanks to the road users for their patience.”
The road is now open as normal.
