JJ DOWNES, a Year 8 pupil from Caereinion High School, has raised £2,000 for the Lingen Davies appeal after shaving off his curls.
JJ’s grandfather, Alun Roberts, suffers from prostate cancer and he wanted to help raise money and awareness of his condition.
JJ’s head was shaved during his grandad’s fundraising party in Llanfair Caereinion on Saturday, December 29.
Alun spoke to the County Times about his condition to help raise awareness and to encourage men to get tested.
Alun said: “The message I want to get across is for men to get tested. Prostate cancer has changed my life, and it could have been prevented.”
