An award-winning headteacher has taken the helm at Caereinion High School.
Phillip Jones, from Neath, took over as head on January 1.
The headteacher, who has more than 30 years of experience in education and business, says he wants to engage and motivate pupils with quality teaching and learning experiences.
“I don’t think I’ve ever experienced a caring school as I have here,” he said.
“Everyday last week there was something that put a smile on my face and I think that’s the community. I’m very fortunate.”
Mr Jones was made Headteacher of the Year in a Secondary School in Wales when he lead Heolddu Comprehensive School in Caerphilly in 2009.
