A DRIVER was stopped after he pulled out in front of police officers on mobile patrol.

Kyle Eliot Rowlands, 21, was found to be over the drink drive limit on Christmas Eve.

Rowlands, of West View in Chirk, had consumed alcohol at home.

He had received a call from his pregnant girlfriend who was not feeling well.

Rowlands got into his vehicle and was on his way to see her when he was stopped by the police, defending solicitor Ceri Lewis told North East Wales Magistrates’ Court.

An intoxiliser test showed that he had 44 microgrammes of alcohol in his breath compared to the legal limit of 35.

He was banned from driving for a year, and was fined £150 with £85 costs and a £20 surcharge.

The defendant also admitted no insurance and a driving licence offence and was fined an additional £150.

Miss Lewis told the court that her client’s girlfriend had given birth yesterday (Tuesday).
