DRIVERS on a busy Oswestry road are facing delays while an underground water pipe is being fixed.
Three-way traffic lights have been put up on the roundabout joining Salop Road and Black Gate Street after a burst pipe has cause disruption.
The burst pipe has left some businesses in the vicinity without water temporarily, while Severn Trent work to fix the problem.
A Severn Trent spokesman said: “Our teams are currently working on Black Gate Street in Oswestry fixing a leak, and to keep our team and other road users safe, we’ll be using three-way traffic lights as we work.
"Repairs began today and we will be aiming to have everything completed overnight.
“We’re really sorry if this causes any inconvenience, but it will be our priority to fix the pipe and get everything back to normal as quickly as possible.”
The Advertizer was told by an Oswestry resident that water had been trickling out of the ground at the location of the burst pipe since before Christmas.
