SP Engery Networks has confirmed that power cuts throughout Oswestry were down to two technical faults.
Reports of power cuts on Tuesday night were due to a fault in an underground cable, and power cuts on Wednesday were due to faulty equipment.
Roadworks are currently taking place in Cross Street, which are being done by SP Energy Networks according to Shropshire Council, to fix the problem.
The council's website says the work, which started on Wednesday, December 19, will continue until December 28.
The work description says "It is to excavate the footway for a cable fault to restore or prevent loss of supply."
Jane Holmes from SP Energy said: "We apologise for any inconvenience caused."
