AROUND 30 people are set to lose their jobs in a cost-saving measure at North Shropshire College.
The redundancies at the Oswestry and Walford campuses, which have been confirmed by principal Ian Peake, will mostly affect managers and admin staff.
Principal Ian Peake said: "It is regrettable that we are having to make about 30 full-time-equivalent redundancies at North Shropshire college, but this is necessary so we can create a financially viable College, by closing the current income and expenditure gap.
"We are consulting extensively with staff and expect the vast majority of the redundancies to be voluntary. Most of the affected staff are managers and administrators, very few teachers. There will be no impact on the courses offered, we will in fact be expanding the curriculum in September 2019 with the reintroduction of A-levels at our Oswestry campus."
