THE RACECOURSE will play host to Wales for the first time in over 10 years as Ryan Giggs' men tackle Trinidad and Tobago on March 20, 2019.

Wrexham's home ground last staged the national football team in February 2008 as Norway headed to north Wales, but Giggs and his side will end their long exile.

The clash with Trinidad, managed by Dennis Lawrence, will be preparation for the Euro 2020 qualifying campaign against Slovakia four days later in Cardiff.

Giggs said: “I’m delighted that we’re able to play at the Racecourse for the first time in 10 years. We thoroughly enjoyed taking the team there for an open training session in May. The support was incredible and further fuelled our ambition to host a match at the historic ground.

“Trinidad & Tobago will prove an interesting test for us and will be great preparation ahead of the EURO 2020 qualifying campaign.”

The last time Wales faced Trinidad and Tobago was back in May, 2006, a game that saw Gareth Bale make his international debut in a 2-1 success, Robert Earnshaw scoring both goals.
