A SCHOOL has been recognised for its services to the armed forces.
Oswestry School has received a Bronze Award in recognition of its work as part of the Armed Forces Covenant.
The awards form part of the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) and encourage employers to support defence and inspire others to do the same.
As a Bronze Award holder, Oswestry School has pledged support to the armed forces through existing or prospective employees.
The school is open to employing reservists, veterans (including the wounded, injured and sick), cadet instructors and military spouses or partners.
Having signed the Armed Forces Covenant earlier in the year, Oswestry School are keen to increase its support of the armed forces community.
Headmaster Julian Noad said: “The armed forces have always played a special role in Oswestry School’s history and I am proud that our efforts to assist the community have been recognised. However, there is always more that we can do and we hope to increase our support over the coming year.”
