AN EVENING of music and carols is set to herald the festive season.

Oswestry Ladies Choir will hold a concert at Christchurch at 7.45pm on Wednesday, December 5.

The choir, conducted by Dawn Jaffray and accompanied by pianist Elizabeth Dobson, will offer a programme full of favourites for all to sing.

Bringing the best choral music, music lovers can expect traditional carols, reflecting the Christmas story, as well as compositions from the modern day, including 2017’s Cradle Hymn by Kim Andre Arnesen.

Bringing the best choral music; the choir will perform enduringly lovely carols and serene and beautiful music by globally renowned present day composers, including the best-selling carol of 2017 “Cradle Hymn”.

Joining the choir – which evolved in the summer of 2015 from Oswestry Choral Society, – will be well-known flautist Jan Lumley, from Shrewsbury.

Tickets (including seasonal refreshments) for the concert are £7 for adults and free to children under 16) and can be obtained from members of the choir and on the door.
