Ellesmere Town Hall was filled with festivities on Saturday as Swan Mere Day Centre held its first Christmas Fair.

Organised by day centre directors Esme Roberts and Julie Wedderkopp, the Christmas Fair saw a wide variety of stalls from cakes and cards, to jewellery and clothing.

Esme said she was delighted by how busy the day had been.

"We didn't expect this at all," she said.

"We are delighted with how many people have come along to support the fair and how many people have set up stalls. Many people found out about the fair through the Advertizer so thank you to them."

Service users at the centre had handmade cards and decorated potted plants ready for the festive season.

Julie added: "The members are all really proud of what they've done and they've all enjoyed today, too.

"The money raised goes towards the members' Christmas lunch so it's all for a good cause.

"We'll definitely be doing a Christmas fair again next year, it's be such a good day."

Mandy and Julie wanted to thank Mandy from the Co-op Stores in Ellesmere who provided the refreshments.

"And of course thank you to everyone who came to support us today," said Esme.
