AN ANTIQUES expert spoke out after an internet troll mocked her sister, who has Down's Syndrome.
Whitchurch-based Christina Trevanion branded Twitter user Jack Jones "narrow-minded, shallow and ignorant" after he commented on a picture of the Bargain Hunt star and her sister, Nicola preparing for an auction.
The poster tweeted "You got the looks then", to which Ms Trevanion – of Whitchurch auctioneers Trevanion & Dean – launched a strongly-worded reply.
"Wow. Initially I felt incredibly angry at your response to me posting a picture of me & my sister who happens to have Down's Syndrome," she said
"But now, I just feel incredibly sad that you judge your world on looks. What a narrow minded, shallow & ignorant person u are. Enjoy being blocked."
The initial comment brought a barrage of criticism from shocked Twitter users, and Jack Jones replied to apologise, claiming that he did not know that Miss Trevanion's sister had the condition.
She accepted the apology and replied: "Although I think you should consider the words of my very wise granny before every single future tweet ‘if you haven’t got anything nice to say... don’t say anything at all’."
