A WREXHAM pub was shut this morning as detectives carried out an investigation into claims of an early morning assault.
Wetherspoons' Lloyds No 1 bar/the North and South Wales Bank in High Street was closed for several hours while officers carried out a crime scene investigation.
A North Wales Police spokesman said that officers were called out at 12.10am shortly before closing time after a complaint was made about an alleged assault on the premises.
"Police officers attended at Lloyds Bar following a complaint of an alleged assault," said the spokesman.
The pub normally opens at 8am for breakfast trade, but a sign on the door of the premises at the time stated: "We will be closed until further notice. Apologies for any inconvenience."
The pub re-opened at about midday.
