A SURVEY aims to gauge awareness of number plate recognition software.
West Mercia Police has launched an online survey about the use of automatic numberplate recognition (ANPR) technology across the region.
The survey will run for six weeks and aims to give communities, as well as those who travel through the region, a chance to voice their views and understanding of how ANPR is used to tackle crime.
ANPR provides lines of enquiry and evidence in the investigation of crime and is used by forces in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
A West Mercia Police spokesman said: "The aim of the survey is to develop a broader view of public perceptions and understanding of police use of ANPR, allowing us to inform and engage with our communities around its future use."
