A recent filmmaking workshop to recruit extras for a local feature film was a huge success.

Sixty people turned up over two days to be put through their paces by the film's coaches.

The Become A Film Extra Workshop was held at the Oswestry Memorial Hall, with countless friends and families joining the extras to support their final performances as well.

Gareth Thomas, director of the film the workshop was in aid of, said that visitors told him that "there was a real buzz about the place".

"Someone told me that they can't recall any workshop being held here before that's brought so many people through the doors or been this popular," said Gareth.

"To get this buzz and atmosphere about film extras, right here in Oswestry, is incredible and it shows how far we've come."

Becuase of the unprecedented success of the event, there will be further extras workshops being held in the New Year and anyone interested in booking their place should contact rockinghorsestudios1207@gmail.com or call 07488340440.
