Oswestry Musical Theatre Company have been busy shining up those ruby slippers for this year's Pantomime, The Wizard of Oz.

Dorothy, Tinman, Scarecrow and the Cowardly Lion, will all be blown into the land of Os this December.

"The Pantomime written by Adrian Barradell, remains 'somewhat' faithful to the original story, but adds a few Panto twists and turns", a company spokesperson said.

"We are really excited to be bring this famous story into Pantoland. Show rehearsals are well underway and we are certain it will be one of our most fun shows to date.

"We are also pleased to announce a new family ticket. Recently we were asked to look into the possibility of having a family ticket and that is just what we have done.

"The ticket for two adults and two children is available for just £36.00, a 10 per cent saving on individual ticket prices. Family tickets are available from both the box office at Rowanthorn and online."

Co-Directors Sue Box and Danielle Edwards, who directed and produced (respectively), Oswestry Musical Theatre Company's award winning Pantomime 'Once Upon a Time', have teamed up again, along with musical director Kate MacDonald to bring you this show.

When asked about winning the prestigious National Operatic and Dramatic Association's, Best Pantomime R2 award. Danielle said: "While winning the award was wonderful, a great honour and a tribute to the work of everyone involved, it is the laughter of the children and the smiling faces leaving the auditorium which is the greatest accolade, everything else is a bonus.

"The cast, and everyone involved in the productions work so hard to ensure everyone, of every age, goes home happy".

The Wizard of Oz, opens at Marches School Theatre, Oswestry on Friday December 7 and runs for four performances, two evenings at 7.00pm on December 7 and 8 and two matinees at 2.00pm on December 8 and 9.

Tickets are available from Rowanthorn, 4, Old Chapel Court, Oswestry and online www.ticketsource.co.uk/omtc
