A STATE-of-the-art dental practice is set to open in Llangollen.

Beauwood Dental Care, a private dentist practice on Chapel Street, will become the town’s only dentistry upon its opening at the start of December.

Set up by Rob Woodward, from Coedpoeth, who owned a practice in Australia but returned with his wife to birth and raise their child in north Wales, is hoping to provide a dentistry service like no other in north Wales.

The practice will have two surgeries, expanding to three by March, with a dental hygienist and dental therapist.

The practice will make available a CEREC 3D and CBCT X-ray scanner to provide a "super high-tech" service.

Mr Woodward, who is also the principal dentist, believes there are not many practices to this standard in north Wales.

He said: “We have renovated the building from top to bottom, gutted it out and brought it up to modern standards.

“We have invested an awful lot of money in it.

“There are state-of-the-art and super high-tech facilities that are not normally on offer in north Wales.

“We will be able to make crowns in a single day rather than wait two weeks.

“We can also make a tooth while the patient waits and provide dental implants.”

The surgery will open to private patients as well as NHS patients.

Mr Woodward says this gives patients the opportunity to pay for “the best care you can buy” and is offering to provide “smile makeovers” through cosmetic surgery that is not available on the NHS.

“Patients would typically have to travel to Chester for a similar service, but it will be provided at their own local practice,” Mr Woodward added.

The public is being welcomed to sign up to the practice from Thursday, November 2 ahead of its official opening in December.
