Police were at Artillery Road in Park Hall to clear ammunitions from a building site this afternoon.
Residents of Park Hall contacted the Advertizer reporting that police were on the site of the Chartland Homes development in Park Crescent.
Andrew Jones, from Chartland Homes, has clarified that the police were there to help clear ordnance that has been found on the site during an investigation.
"We've had a specialist firm in to find any artillery in the site," he said.
"The Ministry of Defence are collecting any items that have been found during the investigation, and the police needed to be notfied about this hence why they were on the scene.
"There has been no new ordnance found - it's just the final stage of the process to remove any items that have been uncovered.
"Work has been going ahead on the other side of the site, but it's still part of an ongoing investigation."
Oswestry Safer Neighbourhood Team tweeted: "More ordnance found Park Hall area.
"A number of projectiles have been secured for the Explosive Ordnance Disposal team to deal with."
