VEGAN visitors gathered this weekend to celebrate a special dietary event in North Wales.

Plas Coch Sports Centre was filled with dozens of vegan guests for the annual North Wales Vegan Festival this weekend.

Over 80 vegan and animal welfare and rights stalls offered their goods at the event, with inspirational talks, interactive workshops, and children's activities running from 10.am- 4.30pm on Saturday.

This region's festival precedes the Bath Vegan Festival on November 11, and offered a variety of sessions throughout the day.

The celebration kicked off with two yoga classes and a self-care for activists session, using techniques from NLP, Shiatsu and Clinical Hypnosis aimed at promoting well-being.

Syd Barnes (Psycho Sid) then gave a talk on battling cancer on a raw vegan diet, after being diagnosed in 2012 with stage four mouth cancer with a prognosis of just six months to live. He did it alone as a single dad with two young children aged 14 and four and offered visitors advice and tips surrounding his journey.

A body-wisdom session was then held to demonstrate to visitor how their footprints can have a lighter impact on the planet, before a meditation sessions, and a 'fall into balance Hatha Flow' slot which ended the event.

Vegan skincare, Greek food, clothing and herbal tea were also on offer as refreshments throughout the day.
